Russ Neal is a senior manager in the Assurance practice of Decosimo’s Nashville office. Prior to joining Decosimo, Russ spent a decade as CFO for privately held companies in various industries, where he was involved with organizational structure, systems design and business development, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Russ began his career in public accounting with the Nashville office of another leading regional firm, and ultimately opened his own practice with two partners before entering the private sector.  

Russ has furnished audit and management consulting services to numerous industries, including financial services, community banks, foundations, healthcare, investment partnerships, printing, manufacturing and a broad range of not-for-profit organizations. For over 20 years, Russ has provided audit and advisory services to the healthcare industry. Russ has served a range of healthcare clients in Middle and East Tennessee, including acute care hospitals, mental health facilities and other healthcare related entities. He has also served as CFO for a home healthcare laboratory company for a period of time. Russ' experience extends to providing audit and due diligence services to the firm’s investment partnership niche, which serves nearly 500 funds with total assets of $30 billion under management.

Russ is a Certified Public Accountant, and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). He is active in community service, and has years of experience serving on the Boards of not-for-profit entities.

An alumni of Middle Tennessee State University, Russ graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
