With two decades of accounting experience, John Murray has a diverse range of experience with clients in various industries. John worked in public accounting for firms in Cincinnati, including a Big Six Firm, gaining experience in audit and tax for 12 years before accepting a position as CFO with a large local building materials distribution company. John serves clients from a wide range of industries from construction and real estate development to manufacturing and distribution. He also specializes in services to investment partnerships, including venture capital firms and private equity groups.

While in public accounting, John managed financial statement audits, reviews and compilations, and was responsible for client tax compliance for public and privately held companies. Additionally, he was involved in consulting engagements and litigation support. Before entering public accounting, he was responsible for all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, tax, legal, human resources and other business management.

John has significant construction-specific experience. He spent 10 years as the finance committee chair for the City of Madeira, where he was responsible for the oversight of the annual road project, including coordination with public works road and infrastructure programs with budgets ranging from $300,000 to $1.25 million per year, including a $4.5 million beautification project and numerous other park projects. He served as Mayor for two years and Vice Mayor for two years while with the Madeira City Council.

John also has experience within the distribution industry where he has provided oversight of the development of a $10 million commercial site, including negotiation of debt financing and obtainment of economic development and Ohio Rail grants. He was also responsible for overseeing all contracts with government entities, commercial and residential contractors.

John earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Ball State University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA) and the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants (KSCPA).
