Kathy Mitts, Managing Principal of Decosimo’s Cincinnati office, has more than 20 years experience in public accounting, specifically in the tax compliance and planning area. She joined the firm in 2003 to assist the tax practice in the Cincinnati office after years of experience with other regional and local accounting firms. As Managing Principal, Kathy is responsible for the administration, daily operation and organization of the Cincinnati office.
Her tax consulting experience includes comprehensive S-corporations, partnerships, not-for-profit entities and individual research and planning, as well as estate and gift tax planning, review and compliance and representation before the Internal Revenue Service.
Kathy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSPCA) and the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants (KSCPA). She is currently a member of the OSCPA’s Tax Legislation Committee, the Nominating Committee and the Centennial Campaign Fundraising Committee for the Educational Foundation. Kathy was formerly a member of the OSCPA’s Executive Board of Directors of the OSCPA, the State Tax Legislation Committee and the Members’ Initiative Committee.
Kathy was named one of the Top 10 Women Accountants in Cincinnati by Women’s Business Magazine and consistently has been named as a Five Star Wealth Manager by Cincinnati Magazine since 2009. She is also involved with the Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce’s Tax and Finance Committee, the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Fine Arts Fund’s Business Volunteers Program. Kathy has been an active member of United Way’s Tocqueville Society Women’s Leadership Initiative since 2008 and participates with Xavier University’s Mentor Program. She also serves as a proofreader of technical articles for an industry publication.
