Cindy Lusk is a Certified Public Accountant with over 15 years experience in providing audit, accounting and tax services. She joined the Decosimo firm in 1996, after working two years in private industry. She works primarily on audit and review in a number of industries. Her areas of expertise include audits for manufacturing and distribution, employee benefit plans and HUD-financed entities. Cindy also has 10 years experience working in the tax services area of Decosimo.
Cindy has specialized experience working on employee benefit plan audits. A significant portion of her career has been dedicated to auditing plans ranging in size from 100 to 35,000 participants with assets up to $548 million. She is committed to helping her clients meet their fiduciary responsibilities and fully understands the latest laws and regulations concerning benefit plans. To maintain her understanding of benefit plan compliance, Cindy attends the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) conference on employee benefit plans and various seminars and webinars.
She also serves as the firm’s primary resource for HUD audits. She manages more than 20 HUD audits for the second largest group of nursing homes in the nation, which operates more than 235 skilled nursing homes, assisted living facilities, retirement living communities, home care services, and Alzheimer's centers. Cindy attends continuing education courses to stay abreast of issues faced by HUD-financed entities and she has also written articles on important HUD-financing related issues.
Cindy is a member of the AICPA, the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP), the International Society of Certified Employee Benefit Plan Specialists (ISCEBS) and the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). She currently serves as the Finance Committee Chairman and Treasurer of the Craniofacial Foundation of America and is an active volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America.
She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Georgia and Tennessee. In addition, she has earned the Retirement Plans Associate (RPA) designation from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
