Tax Principal
 Mike Gentry practices in the tax services area of public accounting. His tax consulting experience includes comprehensive corporate, partnership and individual research and planning, review and compliance; and representation before the Internal Revenue Service, as well as other state and local tax authorities.
Tax consulting for individuals and businesses has included tax implications to shareholders and corporations in connection with tax-free reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, stock versus asset purchase considerations, cancellation of indebtedness and insolvency, choice of operational form, subchapter S corporations, real estate partnerships, covenants not to compete, purchase price allocations, alternative minimum tax, partnership and corporate liquidations, estimated income tax planning, extensive research regarding a multitude of technical issues involving tax-exempt organizations, stock options, partnership and corporation distributions, debt discharge, tax attributes of loss corporations, constructive receipt, related party rules and various items of importance to shareholders and partners. Mike's successful representation before the Internal Revenue Service has included individuals, corporations and partnerships regarding examinations, appeals, collections, amendments, tax exempt status application, and other ancillary agency communications.
Mike is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants (OSCPA). He has served as chapter director and taxation committee chair of the Cincinnati chapter of the OSCPA, as well as past president. In 2002 and 1994, Mike received the chapter's President's Award for his service to the chapter. Mike was an instructor of the Dale Carnegie course for 12 years.
Mike received a B.S. in finance and accounting from Indiana University, and has over 1,200 hours of various continuing professional education credit, primarily focused on corporate, individual and partnership taxation issues.
