Principal in Charge of Operations
 Charles Groves is Principal in Charge of Operations, helping the Managing Principal implement and monitor the firm’s strategies for continued firm growth.
Charles has nearly thirty years of audit experience with Decosimo and led the Assurance practice for several years. His audit clients include non-profit and governmental organizations, employee benefit plans, construction contractors and manufacturers.
He co-authored “The Internal Auditor’s Consulting Role in a Defined Contribution Plan Engagement” published in Oil, Gas & Energy Quarterly, June 2002.
Mr. Groves currently serves on the advisory board for the Department of Accounting at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and the Advisory Committee for Accounting Technology at Chattanooga State Community College. He is the chairman of the Audit Committee for the Cherokee Council of the Boy Scouts of America and of the Finance Committee of First Baptist Church of Chattanooga.
Mr. Groves serves on the Tennessee Society of CPAs peer review committee and is a past president of the Chattanooga chapter of the TSCPA. He has served on the continuing professional education committee.
He is the past chairman of the audit committee for the Tennessee Baptist Convention and has served as vice chairman of the deacon council and chairman of the budget committee of First Baptist Church of Chattanooga. He also served as treasurer of the Mental Health Association of Southeast Tennessee for over ten years.
Mr. Groves graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
