Brad East has 28 years experience in providing audit, attestation, corporate finance, business valuation, consulting and tax services to businesses in a wide variety of industries. His practice is centered on investment partnerships for private equity, venture capital, mezzanine debt, real estate and hedge funds, and the portfolio companies of these partnerships.
Brad’s clients span virtually every industry, including investment partnerships, technology, financial services, healthcare, restaurants, manufacturing and distribution. He has worked with businesses from their initial startup to revenues of hundreds of millions, and with subsidiaries in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Germany, France, Luxembourg and Austria. He has prepared reports on controls at service organizations under SAS 70 and SSAE 16 for data processing and investment advisory businesses and has been a user of these reports in his auditing practice. His manufacturing experience ranges from companies producing grinding wheels and wood stoves to advanced technology companies manufacturing parts for the space shuttle and the aerospace industry. Brad is a firm-wide resource for his knowledge of lean manufacturing, lean accounting, cell manufacturing and other product costing approaches to provide better cost information to support product pricing and production decisions.
His background has been in corporate finance services, including buy and sell-side due diligence services, quality of earnings and pre-acquisitions reviews, operational reviews, financial forecasting, development of business plans, assistance with the negotiation of purchase price and warranty breach disputes, and the development of financial reporting packages and other reporting metrics. He has also led or reviewed valuation engagements for over 20 years, including most recently businesses in the consumer goods, paper, printing, electrical products, privately-held investments, software, professional sports and consumer media arena. Brad also has experience in litigation and arbitration engagements that has included testimony both in court and in depositions, and in the preparation of valuation and litigation exhibits.
Brad is an active community leader. He currently serves on the boards of the Greater Cincinnati Venture Association, Xavier University’s Sedler Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, the Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and Chatfield College. He volunteers with X-Lab, UpTech, St. Vincent de Paul, All Saints Finance Commission, Cub Scouts, Walnut Hills Soup Kitchen and any sports team with which his son is associated.
He graduated cum laude from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and completed post-baccalaureate studies in management and accounting before passing the certified public accountant examination. He earned the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants designation of Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV) in 2001.
