CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (August 14, 2007)—Joseph Decosimo and Company, PLLC, a leading regional accounting and business advisory firm, announces the promotion of Charles F. Groves III, CPA, to Principal in Charge of Operations. Mr. Groves has nearly 30 years of audit experience with Decosimo and previously led the firm's Audit and Assurance practice. In his new role, Mr. Groves will work in accord with Managing Principal Nick Decosimo to implement and monitor operational strategies for continued firm growth.
With eight locations, including offices in each of Tennessee's four largest cities, Decosimo now turns its focus on internal growth, doubling current revenue and recruiting additional professionals.

Mr. Groves has served clients in a number of industries including nonprofit and governmental organizations, employee benefit plans, construction contractors, and manufacturers. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the Tennessee Society of CPAs (TSCPA), where he is a member of council and also serves on the Peer Review Committee. Mr. Groves serves on the Advisory Board for the Department of Accounting at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and the Advisory Committee for Accounting Technology at Chattanooga State Technical Community College. Additionally, he serves as chairman of the Audit Committee of the Boy Scouts of America, Cherokee Area Council and is chairman of the finance committee of the First Baptist Church of Chattanooga.
Mr. Groves is past president of the Chattanooga Chapter of the TSCPA. He is the past chairman of the audit committee for the Tennessee Baptist Convention and has served as vice chairman of the deacon council and chairman of the budget committee of First Baptist Church of Chattanooga. He also served as treasurer of the Mental Health Association of Southeast Tennessee for over ten years.
Mr. Groves graduated cum laude with a bachelor's of science degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He and his wife Teresa have been married for 22 years and have three children, Cynthia, 20, Charles, 17, and Christina, 16.
